What is Index Price?
Index Price is determined by the weighted prices from a selection of mainstream crypto exchanges. An anticipatory mechanism is at work to ensure Index Price swings within an acceptable range when a drastic fluctuation occurs in any of the exchanges.
Coin | Data Source of Index Price |
BTC | Average Price in Spot Market: CoinEx, Binance and Huobi global |
BCH | Average Price in Spot Market: CoinEx, Binance and Huobi global |
ETH | Average Price in Spot Market: CoinEx, Binance and Huobi global |
LTC | Average Price in Spot Market: CoinEx, Binance and Huobi global |
Explanations of Index Price:
a. The Index Price is updated every 5 seconds.
b. If an exchange is out of service and no transactions are released for more than 15 minutes, ViaBTC will automatically remove the exchange from the index until the transaction is resumed, and each remaining exchange will have one-third of the weight. If any of the remaining has a problem, the other two will share the weight.
